About Your Bill

Whether you have Medicare, managed care, co-insurance, or just so-so insurance, understanding your financial options and obligations can be a challenge. St. Charles offers opportunities to address your billing concerns both at the time of registration and after your stay.

At the Time of Registration

The St. Charles Patient Access team consists of registrars and financial counselors who can help you with billing and insurance questions from the get-go. When you register, the Patient Access team can help you:

  • Verify insurance coverage
  • Understand how and when you will be billed
  • Make full or partial payments of your bill
  • Express your needs for financial counseling or assistance

If your personal accounts and insurance company cannot cover the cost of your care, the Patient Access team can help you make alternative arrangements. For example, St. Charles is pleased to offer, in partnership with CarePayment, a no-interest to the patient, 25-month financing plan. Our financial counselors may be able to refer you to charitable organizations or help you reschedule an elective procedure. Also, if your claim is denied, our denial coordinator may be able to assist you in making an appeal to your insurance company.

After Your Stay…

If you have outstanding balances or general questions about your account after your stay, please contact Patient Financial Services: (541) 388-7750 or (800) 972-3194.
