Intermediate Care Unit

When you're well enough to leave our Intensive Care Unit but still need intensive nursing care, you'll transfer to our Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). Patient's in the IMCU receive cardiac (heart) monitoring and close nursing care.

As a "step-down" unit, our highly specialized team of physicians, registered nurses, respiratory therapists and other clinicians provide care to patients who have complex and acute conditions. We care for patients who need:

  • Post open-heart surgery recovery and discharge

  • Post heart attack care
  • Percutaneous coronary intervention, such as angioplasty and stenting
  • Cardiac (heart) monitoring
  • Pulmonary care
  • Post general surgery and other acute medical care and monitoring

To reach the IMCU, please call (541) 706-6830. If you're planning to visit a loved one at IMCU, please see our IMCU Visiting Hours & Guidelines.
