The Respiratory Care Department at St. Charles helps thousands of people who suffer from breathing disorders, where each breath can be a major accomplishment. We provide the region's best in diagnosis, treatment and ongoing respiratory care to all ages who suffer from a variety of conditions that affect the lungs, the heart and the way one breathes.
The Department's unique approach to respiratory care was developed by a team of specialized physicians and therapists. It enables us to micro-adjust every course of action we take in your plan of care, thus speeding the most accurate treatment to a particular condition. The result is better care and faster recovery.
We provide comprehensive respiratory care services for patients with lung and pulmonary illnesses such as:

- Neuromuscular and metabolic disorders
In addition, we help people with respiratory complications from heart attacks, trauma, premature birth, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, AIDS and more.
We also have one of the few certified Pulmonary Function Testing Labs in the nation that consistently achieves the American Thoracic Society's prestigious certification for the highest standards in lab quality.

St. Charles Respiratory Care provides comprehensive services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. All acute respiratory care services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to patients ranging in age from newborn to seniors. The Pulmonary Function Lab is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
