Inpatient Rehabilitation Center
Goals and Objectives
The goal of the Rehabilitation Center is to administer coordinated interdisciplinary team care to restore persons with impairment or disability to the optimum level of function. This is done according to the individual planned goals and objectives in a cost-effective manner, compatible with the physical, cognitive and emotional capabilities of the patient.
Scope of Services
Admissions Coordinator and Physiatrist determine appropriateness of admission to Rehab based on patient need and ability of the program to provide safe quality service and outcomes. Restoring optimal function for people with disability is achieved by integrating the efforts of all members of the rehabilitation team. Emphasis is placed on treating and training the patient, educating and training the family, home care evaluation, and psychosocial management. The inpatient program holds conferences on patients attended by the Rehabilitation Physician. These conferences are held in the form of an interdisciplinary team approach.
The interdisciplinary team approach, under the direction of a Rehabilitation Physician (Physiatrist), includes following disciplines:
- Physiatry
- Rehabilitation Nursing (24 hour)
- Physical Therapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Speech Language Therapy
- Psychology
- Social Work
- Orthotics
If required, diagnostic laboratory, x-ray and all other services of the hospital are available.
Our per diagnosis case mix indicates that majority of patients that come to Rehabilitation Center are admitted due to stroke, followed by lower extremity fracture, followed by brain injury and spinal cord injury. We also provide care for amputation, major multiple trauma, hip fractures and other complicated orthopedic injuries, arthritis, degenerative neurological disorders, and other debilitating conditions.
