Our Areas of Specialization Include

Treatment of  Neurological Conditions

Our focus on brain and spinal cord related conditions includes working with patients recovering from the effects of spinal cord injuries, stroke, head injury or debilitating neurological illnesses.

Treatment of Balance and Dizziness Conditions

Approximately 40 percent of people older than 65 fall each year. While most escape serious injury, fear of falling can cause them to limit their activities.

Fortunately, proper evaluation can detect specific balance problems, and focused exercise can improve stability and strength while decreasing dizziness that can come from weak muscles and poor sensory integration. The St. Charles Rehabilitation Center offers a balance and vestibular retraining program.

The program features the use of Smart Balance Master, a state-of-the-art assessment and training system that provides objective data regarding sensory input and balance control.  Therapists will also perform thorough sensory and motor assessment, which will help define the cause of your balance problem and help the specialist customize your treatment for maximum benefit.

Seniors

In the state of Oregon there are currently 15 geriatric certified physical therapists; St. Charles is proud that five of these specialists are on our team. We offer a variety of programs that are of particular interest to the elderly. The patients work with specialists to treat and prevent bone disease through Outpatient Rehabilitation for Osteoporosis and Side by Side program is designed for adults with memory deficits and Alzheimer's. In addition, we offer many other specialty treatments such as our Vision program and Cancer Rehabilitation.
