Rehabilitation for Osteoporosis

Long thought to be an inevitable part of the aging process, osteoporosis is now recognized as a treatable, preventable disease.
St. Charles Rehabilitation Physical and Occupational Therapists focus on the treatment and management of osteoporosis through education and safe, appropriate training in the following areas:

  • Weight-bearing activities and strengthening
  • Posture and flexibility exercises
  • Pain management
  • Correct body mechanics
  • Fall prevention, which may involve balance training and instruction in the use of a cane or walker

Side by Side: Group Respite Program for Adults with Memory Deficit

Side by Side is an activities based program designed for people with mild to moderate memory defect. The group is led by professionally trained rehabilitation specialists and master trainers of the "best friends" approach to Alzheimer's, which places an emphasis on the dignity of each participant.

Side by Side Program Hours

Side by Side meets weekly, 12:30-4:30 p.m. at the St. Charles Outpatient Rehabilitation Center. Snack provided. For more information or to schedule a free introductory visit, please call (541) 706-7725.

The Side by Side Support Group for family members and caregivers meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, from 2:-3:30 p.m. For support group information call (541) 382-4321.
