About Madras

A small community in the heart of Central Oregon, Madras is 45 minutes from Bend (population approximately 50,000) and less than a two-hour drive from Portland . Madras has its own city-county airport and is only 30 minutes from the Redmond Municipal Airport , with direct flights to Portland and San Francisco serviced by United Express and Horizon Air.

Madras is one of the most culturally diverse communities in the state. The Warm Springs Indian Reservation to the northwest of Madras offers an educational experience at The Museum at Warm Springs as well as entertainment at the Kah-Nee-Ta Resort and its gaming center, Indian Head Casino.
