New Family Nurse Practitioner Joins Mountain View Medical & Surgical Associates     

Joy Harvey, family nurse practitioner, has joined Drs. Nick Turek and Edward Shapiro, MD, at Mountain View Medical & Surgical Associates (MSA) and will provide primary family care. Before joining MSA, Harvey worked as a family nurse practitioner for the Jefferson County Health Department in Madras .  She has 11 years experience as a nurse practitioner and over a decade of experience preceding that as a registered nurse.  Harvey will begin seeing patients on February 18, 2008.

“It is great being here at MSA as a full-time nurse practitioner. I am thrilled to work with the physicians and enthusiastic about continuing my professional career in Madras .  Being a part of expanding healthcare services for our community members is very exciting,” noted Harvey .

Harvey received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of the State of New York/Regents . At Central Oregon Community College , she completed an Associate in Applied Science degree in nursing. She earned a master’s degree in nursing, completing a family nurse practitioner certification from Oregon Health & Sciences University in Portland , Oregon .

Mountain View Medical and Surgical Associates also feature other specialty services such as Cardiology, Neurosurgery, General Surgery, and Podiatry care.   These services will continue to be offered by visiting physicians from the Central Oregon region.
