Mountain View Hospice Accredited with Oregon Hospice Association
Mountain View Hospice recently received accreditation from the Oregon Hospice Association (OHA). The Oregon Hospice Association is committed to ensuring and promoting access to high quality hospice and comfort care for all. OHA accreditation status is valid for two years.
When Mountain View Hospice received their OHA accreditation, it satisfied a new rule mandated by the state of Oregon which requires under ORS 443.860(1), no person shall establish, conduct or maintain a hospice program providing hospice services, or hold itself out to the public as a hospice program, without certification by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as a program of hospice services meeting standards for Medicare reimbursement and accreditation by the Oregon Hospice Association or accreditation by the Joint Commission on Health Care.
The new law is intended to support hospice providers by improving standards of care while meeting regulatory requirements on a continuing basis. As a result of the survey, Mountain View Hospice has developed numerous quality improvement projects that allow for the ability to measure whether their patients, families or significant others needs are being met.
Mountain View Hospice is a dedicated team of trained professionals and volunteers committed to providing compassionate care to terminally ill patients, their families and significant others. Hospice’s Bereavement Program is an extension to hospice services received by terminal patients and extends after death to family or significant others for 13 months.
