How is Home Health Paid For?

Home Health is paid through Medicare, commercial insurance, worker’s compensation insurance, and private pay.  Most insurance companies require a prior authorization from the Home Health agency once the physician has made the referral. For treatment, this may take up to 24-hours to obtain.  Once authorization is approved, the Home Health agency will come to your residence to provide the service requested from the physician.
