Urgent Care Services

OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK
24 HOURS A DAY

For the care and treatment of minor conditions when you are unable to see your regular physician. Mountain View Hospital District wants you to know there is another option besides an Emergency Room visit—called Urgent Care.

What is Urgent Care?

Urgent care is treatment for a condition that requires prompt attention, but does not pose an immediate, serious health threat. Ear infections and sprained ankles are examples of conditions that urgent care staff can treat. You can walk-in without an appointment during Urgent Care hours and receive the medical care you need.

Why Urgent Care?

Sometimes you need care for a minor health problem, but you cannot see your primary care provider right away. The problem may be simple, and not a life threatening emergency, but it is better if you are treated when it occurs. And emergency care can be expensive, even for minor conditions.

What if I need tests?

When your condition requires further testing for accurate diagnosis and treatment, limited laboratory and radiology services are available. Costs for these tests will be in addition to the physician’s.

Patients can be moved to the Emergency Room service for more extensive treatment of radiology, laboratory, nursing or medical services if necessary.

What if I ask for Urgent Care, but I require Emergency Care?

Emergency care is treatment for medical conditions such as those with immediate onset of symptoms, including severe pain that leads most people to believe that immediate medical attention is needed to avoid serious impairment of organs or bodily functions or a serious threat to the health of the individual or a fetus.

If your condition is deemed an emergency, you will be in the right place to get the care you need even if you requested urgent care services. Our staff will determine your medical needs.

The Admitting desk had a list of items that are not allowed under the Mountain View Urgent Care system.

How do I pay for Urgent Care?

Your insurance co-pay is expected at the time of your visit. If you intend to pay for your care personally, we request you make a $15 payment at the time of your visit. We accept all types of private pay, most insurances including PPO’s, HMO’s and workers’ compensation.

One advantage of coming to Urgent Care is that you are billed only for the doctor visit, and any tests done or medications received. You are not billed for emergency room services unless your condition is considered an emergency.

Where is the Urgent Care Clinic located?

It is located at Mountain View Hospital District next to the Emergency Department, and you check in at the same desk in the Emergency Department. When you come in, please ask to be evaluated for “Urgent Care” first.

Who will I see?

You will see the same doctor as when you register for the ER. In fact, our staff is trained and experienced in emergency and family medicine.  So, if you truly need emergency care, you are in the right place for it!

While we know you will understand the reasons, we just want to remind you that patients with emergency medical conditions will be cared for before Urgent Care patients.
