Crook County Healthy Start

Healthy Start is a locally based Healthy Families of America Program for families with children ages birth to three years. It is an early intervention parenting program that is implemented throughout the State of Oregon. Pioneer Memorial Hospital, Home Health and Hospice provides this service in partnership with a network of family focused nonprofit organizations in Crook County.

Healthy Start is a program that supports families by:

  • Building upon family strengths to enhance family functioning.
  • Supporting positive parenting.
  • Promoting child health and development.

Families will know that …

  • They are listened to and treated with respect.
  • Their values, customs and beliefs are recognized.
  • They are provided with complete and unbiased information.
  • There is no charge for services if they qualify for the program.

Through home visits, your family support worker can provide information on…

  • What you can expect as your baby grows and develops.
  • How to calm a crying baby.
  • How to create a warm nurturing family home.
  • How to use toys, books, music and play time to help your baby develop.
  • Community resources to assist your family, if needed.

Crook County Healthy Start is geared toward promoting healthy, empowered families with reaching their full potential by recognizing and building upon individual strengths.
