First week of November: Pioneer Art exhibit features the work of nature photographer Ken Taylor with selections located in the admitting hallway. Emphasis will be on fall colors; this display will continue through the month of November.
November 6, 13, 18 & 20: Living Well with Diabetes series continues with Eating Well with Diabetes, followed by What Do Food Labels Mean? on Nov. 13, Foot Care and Diabetes on Nov. 18 and ending with Diabetes Medications Update on Nov. 20. November 7, 14, 19 and 20: Flu and Pneumonia Shot Clinics at the Crook County Health Department, 375 NW Beaver Street, Suite 100 , held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on these days. November 9 -- 15– Perioperative Nurse Week. These are the nurses who take special care of the surgery patients at Pioneer Memorial Hospital . They care for them before, during and after the procedures, and last year there were over 1,000 surgical procedures performed at PMH. The theme for this week is “Influencing the Future of Safe Patient Care.” A sincere thank you to our Surgery Department caregiving team.
Nov. 20: Light Up A Life ceremony of remembrance at the Crook County Library at 7 p.m. Ornaments will light up a special holiday tree in the main lobby of the hospital throughout the holiday season. A $15 donation will place a symbolic light on this tree; a donation of $20 or more will place a personalized ornament to shine brightly throughout the holiday season. Dec. 1: Life Lights 2008 begins; continues through Jan. 1. Crook County Community Coalition (C4), Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) and Crook County Middle School Leadership Class invite you to join us in pledging not to drink and drive or ride with a drinking driver during the Holiday Season. For each pledge received, a white light will replace a red light on the Christmas tree in front of the Crook County Courthouse. Life Lights will serve as a visual reminder of our community’s commitment to a safe and healthy environment. Please be on the lookout for pledges in the community this season. Dec. 5 & 6: PMH Hospice Christmas Auction at Carey Foster Hall, Crook County Fairgrounds. Open House preview is on Friday, Dec. 5; the live auction begins at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6.
