Our care for people who have diabetes combines the best of technology with compassionate medical care and education.
All of our care providers are experienced in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of diabetes. Our on-site medical laboratories are equipped to provide the testing and screenings that your doctor needs as he or she follows your progress. In addition, your doctor can refer you to our dietitian for a nutritional consultation as well as to our educational series, "Living Well with Diabetes."
Why choose a local physician:
One of the benefits to being in the care of our family practitioners is the fact that they come to know you as a whole person, a person with a family, as well as someone with a medical history. Not only will you receive the benefit of the care today's technology can provide, you and your family will become part of our medical family as we hold you in our care.
Our licensed and registered dietitian can assess and provide for the nutritional needs of patients. Areas of special interest include diabetes, geriatrics and maternal and child health. The dietitian will work with your physician to provide a treatment plan which may include the following:
- ideal body weight, caloric and dietary needs
- foods that help facilitate swallowing
- special diets
- dietary modifications that need to be made as a result of the disability
- patient and family education on nutrition topics related to diseases (i.e., diabetes)
