Pioneer Memorial Hospital Hospice Special Events

The annual fundraising events held by PMH Hospice help to generate funds that go directly for the care of terminally ill patients and their families in Crook County. The funds provided by these events are earmarked for medication, family support, education as well as patient care and medical equipment and supplies.

Light Up A Life

Each year in November families and friends gather in Prineville to celebrate life and the joy of remembering and honoring loved ones in the annual Light Up A Life ceremony.

Light Up a Life is a tree-lighting tradition where we commemorate those we love by illuminating a tree decorated with specially designed ornaments. Each ornament symbolizes an individual who has touched the life of another.

A contribution of $15 or more to Pioneer Memorial Hospice places a symbolic light; a contribution of $20 places a personalized ornament on the Tree of Remembrance to shine brightly throughout the holiday season on a specially decorated tree in the lobby. Lights and ornaments are dedicated in honor of someone admired, or in memory of someone missed. And, a special holiday card is sent acknowledging your gift to hospice.

About mid-November PMH Hospice hosts a reading of all the names represented by the ornaments. Community members are invited to share in this remembrance in honor of someone living, or in memory of a friend or loved one.

Christmas Tree Auction

Featuring Handmade Quilts and Silent Auction

Since 1992 PMH Hospice has held a special celebration for the holiday season by hosting an annual Christmas Tree Auction. The addition of handmade quilts for auction has added even more charm and excitement to the event. This hospice holiday tradition showcases the creative talents of the many community members who design, decorate and donate Christmas trees and handmade quilts.

The Christmas Tree Auction traditionally starts out with an open house the evening prior to the live auction, where the entire community is invited to view and enjoy the delightful array of decorated Christmas Trees and fancifully designed quilts and donated silent auction items.
