The Birthing Experience

Your Birthing Plan

At St. Charles Redmond we want every family to feel in charge of their birthing plan. Our labor and delivery nurses will work with you to help you understand your options and to make sure your birthing experience is the best possible. Our mission is to provide you with the education and support you need throughout your labor and delivery, in the St. Charles spirit of love and compassion.

Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum Rooms

Women who deliver at St. Charles Redmond will stay in one of our private labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum rooms.

As part of the healing healthcare environment at St. Charles, our birthing suites feature warm, soothing interiors with large windows to let in natural light. Our rooms offer space for fathers or partners to spend the night. Our birthing center also features a private lobby for families as part of our commitment to family-centered care.

Labor Options

We offer many options to help you cope while laboring to help with the progression of labor. Most of our birthing suites are equipped with deep Jacuzzi tubs for laboring mothers.

Caring for Your Newborn

After the delivery, an infant care provider at St. Charles will examine your baby. The baby’s health will be monitored throughout your stay at the Family Birthing Center.

During the remainder of your hospital stay, we encourage you to spend as much time as possible with your newborn. Babies room in with their mothers at the Family Birthing Center to help build a strong relationship between mother and child. And, if you need time to rest, nurses at St. Charles Redmond can care for your infant at our newborn nursery.

St. Charles offers Lactation Support and Postpartum Care to provide you the resources you need to care for your baby at home.
