The Respiratory Care Department helps people who suffer from breathing problems, where each breath can be a major accomplishment. We provide diagnosis, treatment and ongoing respiratory care to all ages who suffer from a variety of conditions that affect the lungs, the heart and way one breathes.
The Respiratory Therapy Department’s unique approach to respiratory care was developed by a team of specialized physicians and therapists. It enables us to micro-adjust every course of action we take in your plan of care, thus speeding the most accurate treatment to a particular condition. The result is better care and faster recovery.
We provide comprehensive respiratory care services for patients with lung and pulmonary illnesses such as:
- Pneumonia
- Asthma
- Bronchitis
- Emphysema
- Pulmonary Fibrosis
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- Neuromuscular and metabolic disorders
In addition, we help people with respiratory complications from heart attacks, accidents, premature birth, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer and AIDS.
We offer Outpatient pulmonary function testing.
We also provide outpatient Asthma Education for all ages at no charge to the public. A Certified Asthma Educator (AE-C) works with patients and physicians to help people effectively manage their asthma – from diagnosis to treatment with the correct medications.

St. Charles Respiratory Care provides comprehensive services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. All respiratory care services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to patients ranging in age from newborn to seniors.
