HEARTFELT GIVING

Cardiac care team saves a life, inspires a gift

It was another sunny summer morning in Bend, full of possibility and promise. Pamela Keyes Lyle had big plans to take full advantage of the day. But her health had other plans for her. That day Pamela’s intuition said, “I’m having a heart attack, call 911."

That decision saved her life. Although she didn’t know it, Pamela was seriously ill. She was also very fortunate. The services available at The Heart Center at St. Charles Bend are ranked among the best in the country, offering leading specialists and technologies not often found outside of major cities. In her medical emergency, a team of cardiac experts was there for Pamela at every turn.

“The care I received saved my life and prevented any permanent damage to my heart,” Pamela shared. “The total care at St. Charles was beyond my expectations in skill, professionalism and personal caring.” Because The Heart Center is a nationally recognized leader in the field, Pamela and others like her have a better chance for full recovery. During a heart incident, quick medical intervention prevents long term damage. Nationally, the average time it takes to receive treatment is 180 minutes. At St. Charles Bend, it is less than 60 minutes.

For patients like Pamela, the benefit of immediate, high-quality care is priceless. Having that expert care delivered in a spirit of love and compassion further distinguishes St. Charles Bend from other providers. Pamela was moved by her experience. She wanted to make sure the exceptional care that was there when she needed it most will be there for others. To help accomplish this, she made a gift to the St. Charles Foundation.

"It’s simple,” Pamela noted. “I support the hospital because everyone needs good health care. It is essential to all our lives. I benefited from St. Charles and others should too.”
