What is the mission of the St. Charles Foundation?

The St. Charles Foundation develops relationships and resources that are used to support Cascade Healthcare Community's ability to provide visionary and innovative health initiatives to improve the health and well-being of the citizens of Central and Eastern Oregon, while being good stewards of the resources entrusted us.

What is Cascade Healthcare Community (CHC)?

Cascade Healthcare Community is the parent company of St. Charles Bend and St. Charles Redmond. CHC is a private, not-for-profit Oregon corporation with a locally selected board of directors.

Why does St. Charles need private support?

CHC faces a growing gap between the demand for health care services and facilities and the resources our hospitals can generate to maintain existing operations and programs and to meet our needs for the future. Through the St.Charles Foundation, individuals and organizations can play a vital role in bridging that gap.

Private donations allow St. Charles to build new medical facilities, purchase state-of-the-art equipment, provide community health and wellness programs and deliver exceptional patient care in a healing environment.

Who gives to the St. Charles Foundation?

Thousands of individuals, companies, foundations and organizations contribute to the foundation.

Was the Expanding the Vision capital campaign successful?

Cascade Healthcare Community is building $128 million in new health care facilities at St. Charles Bend and St. Charles Redmond. Construction began in spring 2003 and was completed in fall 2007. Funding from the expansion came from three sources: $81 million from debt financing, $37 million from CHC reserves and $10 million from philanthropy.

With generous community support the Foundation raised more than $10 million.

How does the Foundation recognize donors?

The Foundation appreciates and recognizes gifts of all sizes. All donors receive a 'Thank You' letter and a tax receipt. In addition, the Foundation recognizes contributors through our Donor Recognition Societies. Each Society provides donors with various levels of recognition, such as inclusion in the Foundation's annual 'Thank You' advertisement, a permanent listing on the Foundation's Donor Wall or a commemorative plaque.

How can I get involved with the St. Charles Foundation?

The Foundation is always seeking volunteers who want to help with our fundraising events. Serving on a special event committee provides an opportunity to meet new friends, work on fun projects and raise money to improve services at St. Charles.
