Cascade Healthcare Community saddened to learn of physician’s death

Bend, Ore. - Cascade Healthcare Community executives were saddened to learn Monday evening of the death of Dr. Lynn McDonald who had been missing since Saturday. Deschutes County Sheriff’s Department officials and Deschutes County Search and Rescue volunteers located McDonald’s body after searching for more than 24 hours.

McDonald began his employment in August of 1981 with Central Oregon Emergency Physicians and worked in the St. Charles Bend Emergency Department. He received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1976.

“Our thoughts are with the family, friends and fellow caregivers of Dr. McDonald,” said Jim Diegel, president and CEO of CHC. “In his 27 years in the community, Dr. McDonald touched the lives of many people. His dedication to the medical community and patients was evident in all he did.”

Details were not immediately released on the cause of McDonald’s death.
