St. Charles Foundation elects new chair, secretary and treasurer and names a new member

Bend, Ore. – The St. Charles Foundation Board of Directors recently added a new board member and elected a new chairwoman, secretary and treasurer. Julie Miller will serve as the board’s chairwoman, Dr. William J. Reed will serve as secretary, Paul Stednitz, will serve as treasurer and Erin MacDonald is a new member. The board is comprised of 17 volunteer members of the community who meet monthly and includes business professionals, medical practitioners and community leaders. The board focuses on fundraising and advocacy for the St. Charles Bend and St. Charles Redmond hospitals.

Julie Miller
Julie Miller is the executive vice president and Central Oregon regional manager for Bank of the Cascades. She began working with Bank of the Cascades in 1996 and has nearly 30 years of banking experience. An active community member, Miller serves as a board member of the St. Charles Foundation and was recently elected to act as the board’s chairwoman. She also serves as a board member of Defense Services Inc., and is an active member of the Rotary Club of Bend.

Dr. William J. Reed
Dr. William J. Reed works for Central Oregon Emergency Physicians in the St. Charles Bend emergency department. Reed began serving on the St. Charles Foundation board in 2007 and was recently elected to serve as secretary. Reed received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1992. He served 11 years in the U.S. Navy as a flight surgeon and emergency medicine physician. Reed began working in the St. Charles Bend emergency department in 2003 and also serves as the medical director for Bend Fire and Rescue. 

Paul Stednitz
Paul Stednitz is the Senior Vice President and Regional Manager for Central Oregon with LibertyBank, where he has worked for 12 years. Stednitz was recently elected to serve as the treasurer on the St. Charles Foundation board. He has also served as the president of the Rotary Club of Bend, campaign chair for the United Way and currently serves on the Economic Development of Central Oregon board.

Erin MacDonald
Erin MacDonald works as an estate planning attorney with Karnopp Petersen LLP and regularly advises clients on estate planning, probate, trust administration, tax planning and charitable giving. MacDonald recently joined the St. Charles Foundation board and will serve on the board’s planned giving committee. She also donates her time to Oregon Legal Aid's Senior Law Project, advising elderly and underprivileged community members.
