Cancer Care of the Cascades and the American Cancer Society launch new cancer resource center

Public invited to launch open house on Nov. 5

Bend, Ore. - The American Cancer Society is launching its newest Cancer Resource Center at Cancer Care of the Cascades, and will be holding an open house on Thursday, November 5 to give the public a look at the region's newest cancer care and support program. Cancer Care of the Cascades is a proud member of the Cascade Healthcare Community.

The Cancer Resource Center exists to link those affected by cancer with trained volunteers who serve as personal guides for patients and caregivers as they face the psychosocial, emotional, and financial aspects of their unique cancer experience.

With a focus on the medically underserved, this free and confidential program was developed to reach individuals with the greatest need.

WHEN: From 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5

OTHER: According to the American Cancer Society, more than 19,000 individuals in Oregon will face a cancer diagnosis this year alone.
